These are the links to the 2010 Scottish Highland Games that host Scottish FIRE sanctioned Scottish Fiddle Competitions.
For the most part, these are the "Major League" Scottish Highland Games. If you have ever been to a local or regional Scottish festival but have not been to one of these major events, the shear difference in scale will make your jaw drop. A typical Scottish festival may draw 5,000 participants and spectators. The ones listed here draw tens of thousands...the massed pipes and drums alone could be well over 1,000!Instead of a "Fiddle Tent", you can observe the 100s of contestants finalists compete for a day or more. At the highest level, you will hear some of the most wickedly great fiddlers in the world.
Note: Several of these links were not active at the time this list was put together. We will create the links when they become "live" again.February
