Newly Completed Cigar Box Fiddle Based on Plans from Adventurous Muse

It is always nice to see the results of instruments people make based on my designs. Up-and-coming alternative musical instrument maker, Scott Waters, has recently completed a beautiful cigar box fiddle using my book Cigar Box Fiddles: About Them and How to Make Them as a guide (published by Don Rickert Design)

Word is that it sounds pretty good. We'll see if we can get an MP3 or two and maybe even a YouTube video really soon.

Scott has built some other incredible instruments, including a very cool different take on a washtub bass. He has a number of other instruments on his agenda. Check out photos of Scott Waters musical instrument creations. He has other photo galleries as well.

This 150 book, the most comprehensive guide of its kind shows the prospective maker how to make a modern-style cigar box fiddle, a 19th Century solid wood fiddle, as well as a related instrument, the Whiskey Bottle Box Pochette.
