We mentioned in our last post that Don Rickert Design and Adventurous Muse have a new home. It is in an historic building, which is a nice way of saying old and not much to look at (yet) from the outside.
Our new workshop and studio is located on the sight of the old Roswell, GA textile mill, established in 1836 by Roswell King and destroyed by William Tecumseh Sherman’s troops in 1864, having been the manufacturer of the famous “Roswell Gray” Confederate uniforms and, thus, considered a military target.
The mill was later rebuilt. It is in one of the “new” mill buildings (about 80 years old) that we are now located. As far as we have been able to determine, our workshop was originally housing for mill workers, and later re-purposed as a mill workshop. An exterior photo of the building appears below. Click on the thumbnail image for a larger view.
Just as soon as we have our new workshop organized and presentable enough, we will have some before and after interior photos.
What are we going to be making at our new location?
