We have been selling this instrument at our Amazon.com storefront and have decided to add it to the lineup at the Adventurous Muse Online Store. It's discounted price is just over $4,000, and worth every penny.
This superb replca instrument has ebony trimmings. Marvelous replica of extraordinary 1718 model by Antonio Stradivari (A.K.A. Stradivarius), made in Germany by the famous maker, Ernst Heinrich Roth. As is characteristic of all of the high-end E. R. Roth violins, this one has a powerful, rich and mellow yet focused tone with bright, carrying overtones.
The Short Version of the Very Interesting Ernst Heinrich Roth History
The company now known as Ernst Heinrich Roth has a long history, dating back to 1873 in Markneukirchen, Germany, founded by violin maker Gustav Robert Roth. A lot of fiddlers with old instruments have violins made in Markneukirchen, which used to be in the Saxony region of Germany before the first World War. It ultimately became part of East Germany and now, of course, is simply in Germany.
Gustav Roth was the most important and distinguished figure in a whole dynasty of Roth luthiers active in Germany over many generations and to this day. Today Roth has lutheries in Bubenreuth and Markneukirchen, Germany
